PARSONS SCHOOL OF DESIGN

2017 – 2018, NY
ROLES: Curriculum Development, Workshop Planning and Facilitation, Mentoring, Lecturing and Teaching.

As a part-time faculty member, I thought of the following courses at the Strategic Design and Management, BBA program at Parsons School of Design.
Integrated Research & Development
Creative Teams Dynamics: Identity and Change.

In addition to developing curriculum and workshops, I taught applied mixed-method research and iterative study processes to propose complex innovations. And the theoretical contexts of organizational settings and the human dynamics of such environments.

Integrative research & dev: This course builds upon the Research and Development Methods course by offering students the opportunity to experiment with various approaches to integrating design and research methodologies. In a semester-long project that spans planning, research, implementation, and testing, students will experience the unfolding of the design process, with special attention given to the use of iteration and prototyping as a means to generate knowledge and/or innovative solutions. Students gain a theoretical and practical understanding of how to organize and optimize the design process and the critical skills to reflect on the design process and its outcomes.
Creative teams dynamic:  In this course, students are exposed to organizational settings’ theoretical contexts and the human dynamics within these settings, such as feedback, incentives, and rewards. Students learn effective team-building and collaboration tools, including time-management, leadership, and conflict resolution skills. Students also explore ideation and planning methods that are central to most forms of project management and their application to the practice of design.
